I had a cargo on board my Super Frelon heli bound for Santa Barbara from the South Bay...about 300 mile trip. I was loaded with fuel and had plenty of cargo capacity left as I was only carrying 11,000 lbs or so. Shortly after takeoff, I saw something across the bay...looked to be at SFO airport...i flew from Moffet Field over to S.F. to investigate.: As I got upon it...i was stunned...it was HUGE: Apparently ATC was in contact with it, it was some kind of experimental craft, and traffic was holding on the ground for it...wierd. It looked lke it was taxiing for takeo
