  1. BBC News, a Virgin 747 makes a successful emergency landing at Gatwick on only 3 of its 4 main undercarriage bogies. En route to Las Vegas it turned back over Cornwall and circled over Sussex to dump fuel. All are reported safe.

  3. after discussing the issue with LM i was advised to buy the pro version as i would be using it for reviews however it now appears that pmdg prods will only work n the academic version unless hugely expensive pro licences are bought, my advice is if you havent bought it , i would not bother until the 64bit version comes out, by then the licencing may have been sorted.

  4. A little late, but... Santa Claus, like all pilots, gets regular visits from the Federal Aviation Administration. The FAA examiner arrived on the appointed day for a pre-Christmas flight check. Santa got out his logbook and made sure he had all his paperwork in order. The examiner walked slowly around the sled, consulting a checklist on a clipboard. He looked closely at the reindeer harnesses, the landing gear, and Rudolph's nose. He carefully reviewed Santa's weight and balance calculations for the sled's huge payload.   5. Thanks Tim, it is a great aircraft once you learn it, which takes some time. I'm still not 100% with it now! If I was judging beauty I would pick the cockpit and the overall modeling vs. the actual look of the aircraft. I did read all of the manuals plus some extra stuff I found on the web but I really got a solid understanding of the aircraft and general pilot procedures from the Airline2Sim videos, it really put everything into perspective for me. I did pretty good but for some reason I kept forgetting to turn the bleed air back to max after takeoff, which really angers the pass

  6. Below is the text of an e-mail I received today. This is so good I wanted to share it but this thread is the only location I could think of as an appropriate place to post it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did... Obviously, I didn't click on the link they helpfully provided. The part about the FBI being ready to make things easy was the clincher, though my BS detector was alarming WAY before that.
