  1. NASA Unveils Plans for Electric-Powered Plane http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/18/science/nasa-electric-plane-x57.html?_r=0 Interesting, but I'm not particularly impressed... "The design does not overcome the shortcomings of electric propulsion. Its 800 pounds of batteries will replace the rear two passenger seats, and the seat next to the pilot will be replaced with instrumentation, leaving space for only the pilot and no passengers. It can stay aloft for only about one hour." For comparison, two obese portly burly pax in a C-172 and an hour's fue

  2. Kind of cool - I'm sitting on my porch sucking on a frosty when I hear a bunch of radials. I look up and there's a B17 flying over my condo in downtown Victoria, BC. Well, I'll be darned! Last time I was in a B17 the aircraft got arrested by the RCMP and sent home (to Texas, if memory serves) with the admonition "don't come back!". But that's a whole different story. Anyway, curiosity got the better of me and I typed in the query to Google and came up with this: http://www.timescolonist.com/news/local/b-17-bomber-roars-over-victoria-powerful-reminder-for-veterans-1

  4. I am a little surprised at the lack of comments here so far and since I have never been afraid to step on my own foot or be wrong I will give this a whorl. I was not impressed with his presentation for a number of reasons, first and foremost Dovetail is a game developer. They may call this a simulation but according to what he said he is trying to bring new users into the fold and the starting platform is kind of setup like that, let's get the young people that are used to instant gratification into flying aircraft first and all that other stuff that hardcore simmers are interested

  5. NASA has some of the best scientists and engineers in the world but I agree that they will turn it into a money drain and also take money away from the private work already being done at the moment. They need to be working on the root problems inherent in battery/electric use in aviation before they start building planes. Putting the cart before the horse is a waste of time in my opinion. Still they build some cool stuff, thanks for the link.

  6. Yes it is what I have in FSX and I put in FSX main directory just dropped it in. I deleted the old cfg. and then put the updated one you gave me in FSX root directory, So I didn't get a over write question from windows... Is that bad? I believe we can solve this issue. There is also a ORBX terrain.cfg do you want to see that to? G
