  1. At last after a long wait, it's over.  Australia is here and all I can say is "Wow. :yahoo:

I will admit that I am using Orbx cities with world7 as I have found them to be better than the photgramy from Asobo (although very good)

So join me on my stop over in Sydney.

An overflight caught this different view:

I booked myself into a cheaper hotel in the city centre and this is my view from the room:

After I settled in, it was time to get out and about, so camera and drone at the ready, off we go.

I used the drone from the park just outside St Mary's Cathedral for this shot:

After a meal at the top of the Sky Tower, I ventured out onto the viewing cage for this shot:

After a walk over to the bridge, I was a glutton for punishment and took the climb. :fool:

Oh oh, that was fun, so off to Luna Park for some more:

What a great day in Sydney, but evening was approaching fast:

Then it was time to say goodnight Sydney:

Australia 2020 has change the sim for me, as I have been flying Oz for months.  Now it's a new discovery again.  :hat::pilotic:

  2. Brilliant, Oz is one of the countries that this aircraft was designed for.  It's ruggedness allows for anything to be thrown at it. (Except a bomb of course) :whis:

That paint scheme is well suited to the aircraft.  Love it. :hat:

  3. MSFS 2020 is still enthusing me with it's delights for short distance general commercial flights. (Smaller airlines)

Here we catch a McKinnon air services return flight into Cambridge airport Hobart.

Cambridge does not have an ILS landing system, so the OBS feature of the Garmin G1000 NXi, is a great assistance to lining up with the runway from a few miles out.

Cambridge and Hobart main are very close to each other and Hobart is the controlling airspace.  Hobart is seen under my wheels.

Hey Taff! Totally with you with length of flights etc. I have met my ideal a/c with the Aerosoft Twin Otter, a nice mix of steam gauges and mid range GPS, the scenery does it for me New Zealand is my playground when I am on my own.

    Life is good!

There's something about the ANZAK lands that make for some compulsive flying.  In my next lifetime I wanabe a helicopter pilot in New Zealand..  I looked at you review on the Twin Otter, but I am sticking with the Kodiak as I like learning and using the G1000NXi.  Also the Kodiak has a better cabin heater for those cold mornings.. :dance3:

  5. 2020 has put a new sim life back into me and I have not enjoyed such, since my departure from FSX.

I seem to have found a little niche for myself in flying around the West and North, of Queensland Australia.  I am based in Wales UK, but Oz seems to be my calling at the moment.  (The joy of having the World at your finger tips).  My modus operandi is the SWS Kodiak 100, just loving it.  It must be my age, but I like to keep my routes to about one or one and a half hour in length, shorter if possible.

So here are a few  screenies (Ozy slang) of yesterdays flight.

The flight is from Aurukun to Coen in the Northern Peninsular region of QLD.  This area is predominantly Aboriginal tribal lands, so the Kodiak is the ideal aircraft for the Government sponsored flights in the area.

    The flight plan:

The 2020 Garmin G1000 NXi is showing the full range of info for the pilot.

I have made 3 repaints in the McKinnon air services scheme, so "Celtic Spirit" VH-LVL was the choice for this flight.  The other 2 are "Celtic Lady" and "Celtic Princess"  photos of each in the next flight updates.

    "G'day from an Ozzyed Taff.
