  1. Congratulations, Joe.....and a big thumbs up for Chillblast! Hopefully both sides will benefit from this relationship
  2. I will make a note to check this when I get hold of the beta version of Stansted.
  3. I would have thought that you would have wanted a very detailed version of Stansted airport, Jim. If you are interested, version 3 of UK2000 Stansted Xtreme is the next product on Gary's list, so I can always ask him about this.
  4. I am not absolutely sure about ORBx compatibility with UK2000 Cumbernauld Xtreme, so I have sent a PM to Gary Summons about it. I will let you know as soon as I get a response.
  5. Jim, Do you have any of the ORBx FTX Europe regions installed? If so, then you will be able to use the ORBx FTX UK airfields. Contrary to the ORBx advertising, you do not specifically need FTX England to be installed to use them. You only need a single FTX Europe region, so that you have access to the relevant ORBx LIBS files. Alternatively, Gary Summons has created a very nice UK2000 Xtreme version of Cumbernauld in Scotland. You may want to check that out? I can also highly recommend the UK2000 VFR Airfields packages. Obviously the individual airfields are not up to ORBx FTX or UK200
  6. All of these hotfix releases make me suspect that there will be no further 2.x version releases of P3D. I reckon that the next release will be version 3.0, which I assume will be a significant upgrade. However, I am not convinced that it will be 64bit.
  7. They can be clearly seen in the Bing image, Ray..... http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?q=East+Midlands+airport&mkt=en&FORM=HDRSC4 http://www.masterwindturbines.com/img/East%20Midlands%20Airport%20DHL.jpg As for ES Treescapes for VFR GenX Volume 7 Central Scotland, I thought you were saying that it had never been released! Volume 7 of the photographic scenery itself also appears to be hard to find these days......
  8. Ray, Three comments........ ES Treescapes is available for VFR GenX Volume 7 Central Scotland There are two wind turbines at EGNX East Midlands. Could you possibly add these to FSXPP, as UK2000 East Midlands Xtreme does not include them? I use ORBx FTX Northern Ireland, and I had FTX Republic of Ireland installed at one point. The rural areas can look very nice with lots of trees and fields, but the big problem for me is urban areas and coastlines. The ground textures in urban areas have never convinced me in landclass scenery, and it is no different with ORBx. The buildings are OK,
  9. Thanks for the update, Ray. I for one will be installing your updated pylon network You make an interesting comment about "many of us updating to ORBx scenery". I can't imagine why many UK photoscenery users would want to do that when the ORBx landclass scenery isn't particularly realistic, although I guess it has lots of autogen trees and buildings.
  10. Someone on the AVSIM forum has asked for my help regarding locating a copy of PlayHorizon VFR GenX Volume 7 Central Scotland photographic scenery. Does anyone have a copy that they want to sell? Alternatively, does anyone here know if a copy is available anywhere? If so, then please let me know!
  11. That is very impressive scenery, Peter. Even more impressive is that my home town of Ulverston is in view from 1:44 to 2:17
  12. It's great to hear that this year's FlightSim Conference was a big success. It would be nice to see Froogle at Cosford
  13. I love Ultimate Traffic 2, but it took a lot of time and effort to populate the UK and Ireland airports with the volume of traffic that makes it realistic. I don't use the Daedalus colour scheme (for obvious reasons), so I needed to add additional passenger (and cargo) airlines that were not included in the default (admittedly 2009 database) version of UT2. To be honest, almost the entire database of planes that fly in and out of the UK and Ireland have been replaced on my system with new models and textures, and I am still waiting for a handful of additional airline schedules to be released.
  14. I like the VTOL capability of the F35B. Some people go on about reduced range and weapons load, but I just ignore them
  15. Wasn't the original aircraft capacity of these carriers supposed to be 50? I would have thought that would have been possible, considering that the large American carriers can take 90.
  16. One of the RAF VC10s should have been kept in airworthy condition. That would have been a suitable replacement, although again it is a relatively old jet.
  17. I purchased the ORBx FTX Northern Ireland scenery, and then the FTX Republic of Ireland to go with it. All of those trees and buildings were nice at first, but after a while I started getting fed up of looking at what I knew to be generic (aka unrealistic) scenery. It's also worth noting that it was a major performance hitter when flying near my Aerosoft EIDW Dublin airport, and the generic nature of the scenery was even more apparent in that location (plus the extremely unrealistic, low resolution coastlines). Therefore, I decided to buy myself the PlayHorizon VFR GenX Republic of Ireland sce
  18. I remain sceptical as to just how much of a difference SLI will provide to framerates in P3D, although I would be quite happy to be proved wrong. I just can't help thinking that it will be the CPU that determines the upper performance limit in SLI systems.
  19. I definitely wouldn't look at an AMD GPU, Kevin. Popular opinion is that they aren't as good as Nvidia for P3D or FSX. I tend to agree that 2x GTX970s would be a good choice for anyone who does decide to go down the SLI route, although Rob Ainscough (beta tester for Lockheed Martin) has just purchased a second Titan X!!!
  20. It's of no interest to me. I ain't forking out 200 quid for another graphics card!
  21. There are instructions on how to remove ORBx products on their forum. I have never had a problem reinstalling after following the procedure, although I tend to agree that they really should have uninstallers.
  22. UK2000 VFR Airfields Volume 1 Version 2 is compatible with both UK photoscenery and FTX England, so the blends should be fine.
  23. The loss of ES Jersey was Earth shatteringly sad! I would love to know if Darren and Vikki intend to return to the world of flight simulation at some point. I was hoping to meet them one day (possibly at the RAF Cosford FlightSim Show).....
