Had someone at 98%, took 73% damage in a jumbo. I wasn't happy, but since they'd earned me over a billion dollars in job fees, I let them be (and since I completely totalled another jumbo!). They flew flawlessly for the remainder of my company! It can be all luck. One bit of advice - don't worry about repairing it if the AC is still at 99% - that's adequate wear-and-tear from a normal flight sequence! It's only as the AC goes near 80% it looks sloppy

Many thanks guys - REX is wokring wonders! And thank you for the Gaelic welcome, Hurricane... hadn't realised you were younger than me (waah ). Good luck Clem, bet you're pleased your leg is all overland And yes brett, drinks are expensive on cargo flights

As the younger member representative (17), I don't care what older people think, as long as it's not murderous, and I'm fairly sure none of us are There is a counter-argument to "refugees scrounge our benefits" - yes, but their children will be born as your citizens, they will pay tax, they will contribute to the economy, and you get brownie points for being kind to people. At the end of the day, perhaps too many people forget that being kind is best. That's all from me as well... although I do enjoy finding out views of internationally-based people (was going to say foreigners, but that wo

Imagine my surprise on seeing my name on the departure board so soon! With an urgent call to HQ the CIA allow me a break from my current mission in the jungles of Borneo to fly this leg. I arrived yesterday at Keflavik Airport, the international gateway of Iceland, located on a peninsula on the south-west of the island. An ex-American Military base used in WWII to bomb Europe, Keflavik (with its 10,000ft runways) was found to be perfect to host the largest of jets. Whilst Reykjavik has an airport in the middle of town, it's 5,000ft runway is alas too short for anything other than 737s. I turn

PIREP Leg 36: Halifax - Shearwater (CYAW) to Keflavik (BIKF)

Well done indeed! Me next I suppose Thankfully my Cub's broken down, so it's the B757 for me -
Having watched the takeoff - the three things that would freak me out would be the rudder pedals (not joystick rudder!), actual wind that gusts, and the sensitivity of the airplane controls. He looked like he was fighting it a bit.

Looks good, so much less to go wrong and with the England pack. Once reviews come flooding in I'll be more interested!

FS is the beginning of a hobby that either inspires people to be pilots, or allows RL pilots more freedom (how many tubeliner pilots do bush-flying anywhere but FS?). It is also useful. If the airliner I was on lost both the pilots, I could land it, albeit with a bit of luck, and no-one else could. If there was a driving simulator that was as detailed as FSX, I would know how to drive by now (I'm 17). FS experience helps me with flying as passengers also - I know what every bump is, and I know why the plane pitches forwards when the flaps go out, etc., but I also know everything that could go

Do they work in FSX? The webpages are... outdated in appearance

Well, lucky you for being able to fly a plane... that sounds so idyllic the way you put it - just 'pop off' to France for a day! You have some mighty fine stories to tell, so thanks for sharing!

First - looks absolutely fantastic. When I finally find the treasure I'm looking for I'll get a copy! Second - I'm glad you've included screenshots of the runways - ORBX occaisonally omit them, and that's the bit people are going to be seeing the most! Any chance of a screenshot in the summer with no clouds? The one problem I see with ORBX is everything is so gloomy!

"Hey guy, just wanted to warn you there's a jumbo coming in, so get those burgers on, eh?"

Peter wonders if his extra-aromatic burgers were the right idea after all.

Looks great! Just returned from pootling round the Outerra forums... they need a model of this!

...and whilst you were looking at that one, another of about 10,000kg overshoots Chelyabinsk in Russia. The shockwave smashes the town's windows, injuring 1200. And thank goodness the Russians have appaling insurance scams - it was captured on a lot of cameras!

The Jokes topic (Do not enter if easily offended)

A busy ATC is interrupted by a fighter pilot asking to take off. The ATC inform him the airport is very busy, but if he can reach 14000ft in less than half the length of the runway, he can take-off. The ATC still say it's the most amzaing sight they've ever seen. Pilot - "Folks, we have reached our cruising altitude now, so I am going to switch the seat belt sign off. Feel free to move about as you wish, but please stay inside the plane till we land ... it's a bit cold outside, and if you walk on the wings it affects the flight pattern." If God had intended man to fly, He would not hav -
I got Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon free online the other day (made 1990) - it asks for 512kB of RAM but doesn't give anything more, just a bunch of PC names that as a 17-yr-old I don't recognize, save for the company IBM! That game was hard, I still haven't figured how to actually make any money on it!

Darn it Joe, you beat me to the nostalgia joke! My next favourite (and thankfully aviation-related in some sense), is the maxim: "Time flies like an arrow, but fruit flies like a banana". -
That Bucc is definitely my favourite RW aircraft - where did you get it? I once had that circling problem... only problem there was I'd left the computer for two hours, came back to find my 737 pretty much where I'd left it! Good shots, and good luck with your shorter runways!

Is this what we pay our money for? debate
GHAO replied to britfrog's topic in Flight Simulator X (FSX) / FSX Steam Edition
I thought PMDG made planes that were able to be used by RW pilots for practice - I thought that was the main point of the company, ergo, I'd never buy them as I'd be out my depth! And as Britfrog says, how are they going to know you use their product with P3D without them spying on you? -
What I would give for a SeaVictor!

Well, remember the London summer riots were sparked by the police shooting dead a person who had a gun in their hands. Guns in England are basically taboo and unacceptable - the only people with them are gamekeepers, drug dealers, and the police/army/combined cadet forces. Also remember the various gunmen we've had over the years - one person killed 13. He wasn't the sanest of people. Had the other thousand of insane Englishmen had access to guns, we'd have more mass shootings. This to us Europeans seems like simple logic - even as the NRA says (I think, don't quote me), guns don't kill peopl

Looks absolutely beautiful! Where did the aircraft come from?
