  1. Thanks John, much appreciated. We're moving away from the 4-page newsletter format and into the multi-page magazine format with the 8th Edition, so should become better still.... regards 7th edition, it's being shown as a 'slideshow' format, at the bottom right of the screen should be a page selection. if not let me know and i'll adjust the link. Cheers, Simi (Deputy Editor & Executive Graphics Editor - AirPower Brize Norton)
  2. HI All, First of all, let me welcome you all to this venture,. More importantly, thanks go to our host for allowing me to promote this publication on his fantastic forum. What is it you ask, well, think of a magazine along the lines of "Air Forces Monthly" or similar, just on not such a massive scale - although my ego (let alone my editor!) won't like me saying that! It is produced by a team of three RAF Suppliers ate RAF Brize Norton, myself included, in our spare time - it is not work-related (yes, we do it for fun!) and the opinions within are solely those of the writer and are not endors
  3. totally agree with your thoughts Joe, i was horrified, disgusted and flabberghasted to hear that Rupert Murdoch and BSkyB have stolen yet ANOTHER treasure from the free-to-air TV stations.... i, among many, will point-blank refuse to feed into Murdoch empire and find it disgusting that the competition commission haven't launched an enquiry - Sky have 90% (if not more) of all Premier League games, most of the Championship games, World Darts, Rugby, Rally cars, Boxing and all manner of other sports under their belt, why on Earth should the average punter be forced to pay out for an expensive su
  4. although saddened by her loss, and my condolences go to her family, she had the opportunity on many occasions, and even her dad told her to go to Re-Hab , but she said is "no, no no..." - in hindsight, probably not the best option.

    VC-10

bloody noisy, filthy dirty, gorgeously sleek looking aircraft of wonderment. Will most definitely be a shame when Brize is no longer frequented by these beauties - i for one will miss cycling past the aircraft pan on my way into the office and not seeing them.
  6. mmmmmmmmmmm.......beeeeeeeeeer! ...are you coming by OXfordshire soon Sabre, i'd love to join you for a pint (or 3...4...5...6)!
  7. she sure does.... on the FSX front, i took my PC into a local tech place / software retailer this week - no, not PC World (of Hell) - and basically, i need a new system to run even the most basic version of FSX...i'll be setting up a 'donate' button in my signature very soon.
  8. oooooooh, she's pretty which P-51D model is this?
  9. i wholeheartedly agree with you RabbitC, my 6-year old daughter simply loves air shows. We were at Duxford "Flying Legends" this weekend - you cant beat the sound of nothing but piston engined planes thundering through the air. Anyways, she absolutely loved it, not only the show but the whole museum it self, when she saw the Concorde there she said something that melted my heart - "Daddy, why is that pretty plane with the pointy nose not flying any more?"...i just couldn't work out the words to properly explain it to her, but i came up with "because some silly man in the aeroplane business sa
  10. JKB, you are a God amongst mere mortals like myself...thank you so much...oh, and keep an eye on the Screenshots forum i've a little something for you.....
  11. Yay! thanks a million jan, really...wow, awesome stuff, and so fast!
  12. pretty please... i'd love to have my very own balbo of P51's in formation over Duxford.......mmmmmm
  13. aww, no fair...now I gotta go buy me both FSX and the Warbird sim P51D...she's a very pretty bird - Mrs Av8r isn't going to be happy.
  14. looking lovely JK.... i don't suppose you've done a 'Nooky Booky IV" for the A2A model have you?? here she is in all her splendour:
  15. Agreed, Android is (officially) the largest mobile platform used in the UK, so an Android version of this wouldn't go amiss i'm sure...
  16. well, that's a bit unfair...Reading FC's Madjeski Stadium is missing!...and if it's only Premier League clubs featuerd, why are West Ham, Middlesbrough, Portsmouth and Norwich present?
  17. Here's a much better video of the incident..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmsJW0-6JB0&feature=youtu.be&hd=1 on a better note, i'm going through my 450+ photos from Sundays' show and will post a flickr/photobucket link as soon as they're uploaded.
  18. Seems to work fine on my android based HTC Desire HD...
  19. I would have posted this last night from the scene of the accident if my mobile network was working...was the sky raider to blame in my opinion. The pilot turned too steep, across the path of the turning p-51 (big beautiful doll). I've never seen an pilot get out of a plane that fast...he was only at about 300/400 feet. The sky raider pilot did incredibly well to get it down in one piece, about 3 or 4 foot of the port wing to was missing! BBD is, I understand, a write off. Still, glad to say both pilots are safe.
  20. No worries JK, i've already downloaded 'Soebang' and 'Krakatau' a while back - very nice repaints as you point out! I only asked about the 'extra weathered' Spit above as i loved your previous ones, i guess i really need to save more for a new PC and FSX!
  21. shame that's a pretty darned nice re-paint too!
  22. Joe / JK...or whoever can answer the question best - can the A2A Spitfire repaint be used with the Spitfire in the FS9 version of Shockwave's WW2 Fighters pack?
  23. ahhh, lovely! I don't know about banter back in1944, but i understood every bit of that clip...it's almost as if i were at work! righto chaps, i'm off to grill the bacon for sqiuffys knees up. Keep your lug-holes open and your peepers peeled!
  24. if im not wrong keiron, i think i got the 4.09m and associated skin packs as torrent files download took a grand total of 1hrs and 55mins for all 1.3gb......p2p at its most useful!
  25. where i come from, low and slow is the ONLY way to fly, and the best way to do it is in great aircraft...some good choices above, but take a look at my favourites below too... Freeware - Dave Garwoods' Auster J1 'Autocrat' or the DeHavilland DH.89a 'Dragon Rapide' both available over at Britsim.com Payware - i think its got to be something from the Eaglesoft or Carenado stables, lets see, probably the Eaglesoft Piper Twin Commanche, or the Carenado Cessna 208B / Cessna 152 (i cant choose, all the Carenado aircraft are just so good!)
