Thanks again,Andrew. NOW I see where you mean. Unfortunately I'm not even seeing that layout. Clicking on that 'File' tab - which shows as a green coloured one - results in nothing dropping down and the 'Home', 'Map' and 'View' tabs are all greyed out. The install path I followed put the 3.1.3 version into the Program File s (x86) whilst the 3.1.4 version I stuck into the simpler Program Files within my main drive. For now I'm going to wait until tomorrow before trying anything else as my brain is weary after a run of uninstalls and reinstalls. Any further thoughts to aid an ex

Well, I went ahead and installed that 3.1.4 Map fix test and everything SEEMS alright. But just in case, where do I find those 'Options' you mention? This is what you get for being so helpful, Andrew.

Thanks, Andrew. Just to confirm you mean the "3.1.4 Map fix test" and which folder did you put your d/load of this 'fix test' into? Apologies for my fumbling ineptitude.

This is my latest challenge! I have posted a 'Help' cry on Plan G's Forum but there's been a marked lack of response to date so here I am - again. I have a suspicion that I have installed the incorrect version for my FSX:SE setup. I did have an older version of Plan G installed but that wasn't functioning any more so I removed that and, with the Norton software disabled, I installed the Plan G's Version 3.1.3. The result I got was a shock. if I knew how to add an attachment I could show you my screen view. Perhaps I could be guided I could be guided about that as well. For

At last! I have just run a re-install and all appears to be running perfectly. Now I am able to input those ICAO codes etc. that I had been struggling to do. Thanks for all your help, especially you Andrew. -

Tomorrow more research then. It would be very gratifying to solve this challenge. It would seem that some minor tweak is needed. -

PS....I re-read and noticed that I had failed to enter my start point to get the plan going. Unfortunately I still couldn't enter any details. That first entry area just went on flashing at me. No joy with either the inner or outer knob control. Rats. -

Yes, Andrew I had tried creating a flight plan using theG1000 and that GCU unit. As I mentioned it worked with the G1000 in the Skyhawks but with the Carenado I was unable to get any useful felons from that FMS control knob using either of the inner or outer sections. I wasn't able to insert any ident letters or numerals at all. The next flashing point of entry simply went on flashing. Hmm. Many thanks for getting back to me. I'll re-read those pages! -
Using the G1000 with the Cessna Skyhawk I can plan either a 'Direct To' trip or create a Flight Plan without any difficulty. However in the Carenado Embraer, that I've bought and installed, I am unable to enter any of that information at all. Everything else seems to function as expected. Any ideas, chaps?

Thanks, Joe. Of that one I am aware. My problem has been that I have read conflicting comments that FSX keyboard inputs function with this Carenado - and they it don't. yet to prove/disprove that...in about ten minutes! Situation normal. The search continues. Have a restful Christmas and healthy New Year.

Solved that bit there's support on Avsim.

Following a successful installation of both the aircraft and the add on NAV. Pack, it appears that my Saitek X52 Pro doesn't recognise add on aircraft so how might I set about creating a profile with inputs from my keyboard? I'm stuck. I should also like to know if it's possible to fill my monitor with an enlarged individual view in turn of each of the three major screens in its pit. Or isn't it??? Could you recommend some Carenado sites that are filled to overflowing with helpful advice as they have eluded me so far. Many thanks. And warm season greetings to all of you ou

Gracias, to you too, Andrew. All now appears to be well.

Of course, Tim. Now I feel a right plonker as well. There iit was, in all its glory. Dear oh dear. Time I laid me down to rest!

Apologies for being a pain but as regards the manuals, there is no problem. I am knee deep in accessible manuals. What I haven't been able to do is crank up the aircraft. I haven't found any 'exe' file or whatever it is that I need. How do I get to clamber into this aircraft and fly it? I am feeling a right klutz. Thanks for advce, as ever.

Problem. I installed the Carenado 300 first. Selected the FSX radio button but that wouldn't suffice and I then had to select 'Browse' and enter this path: C\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fsx Eventually both it and the Nav pack are there along with a bundle of pdf files BUT There's no icon on my desptop and nothing showing in my Start menu. Where have I gone wrong???
-
Very grateful for your timely advice. NOW I can get underway with what promises to be a delightful ride.
-
Right...after Mutley's advice I bought that aircraft. Does it install itself into the correct folder automatically or does it need some steering?
-
As ever you all come up smelling of roses. That particular aircraft looks very fetching. I'm off to rattle my pig.
-
Postscript....Further reading shows me that the Navigraph pack is designed solely for the Carenado EMB505 Phenom 300. So, to rephrase my question, is that particular aircraft worth buying? Thank you, chaps.
-
I'm thinking of buying one of their Carenado aircraft along with the Navigraph expansion pack. Good idea? Slashed prices but which aircraft to buy? Any recommendations, folks?

I don't hesitate in agreeing with you, John. I have been checking on You Tube but Peter Stark's approach was both detailed and precise whereas the former is too swift by comparison. However one never knows. Perhaps the magazine will decide to do what I have suggested. Thanks, John.
