  1. I have finally got around to the world of carrier aviation on P3D v4.5. I bought the SWS carrier Nimitz vol 1. and it is great. Having great fun trying things out and yes, there is a lot to learn! I am also reading the Haynes Operations Manual for US Supercarriers. It is a pretty good read to find out the operational procedures and history of US carriers.
  2. OK...thanks for your input Joe. Much appreciated. Regards Martin
  3. OK, I am not a computer geek and do not understand some technical stuff, but I am curious if my computer could handle MSFS2020. This might sound stupid to some of you, but here goes..... VRAM...not sure what that is? My computer specs are: (reading from the slip that came with it) Intel Core i5-9400 (6-core/6 thread 9M cache 4.1 GHz Processor with Intel Turbo Boost Technology) 8GB 1xGB DDR4 2666MHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB GDDR6 (I am currently running P3Dv4.5 and it runs reasonably with some settings at max) Thanks for you help.
  4. The Captain kept hitting on me, so I put some bromide in his coffee whenever I make him one!
  5. Ok Joe....this one is yours. Take it away boss!! (From a non-smoker!!)
  6. I sometimes buy stuff and then it sits around for sometime before it gets tried! Am I normal...??
  7. I know what you mean...I find it hard to contrate on just one when there are so many 'new toys' in the hanger.
  8. Thanks Tim. Ok...lets see what the gang can come up with for this one...... Have fun! Martin
  9. Thanks Joe. Despite cranking the wind up, the trees only move a bit...I seem to recall it moving more on the video that I saw, but at least it is more than FSX!! The stuff on Orbx Central looks interesting too. Thanks again. Martin
  10. A few months back before I bought P3Dv4.5, I recall seeing a video on YouTube about v4 which had trees that moved with the wind and prop wash. I also seem to recall that it had rain on the windshield on the plane. Naturally, I cannot find that video now! Does PD3.4.5 come with moving trees and rain effects, and if so, how do you get it to work/what settings do I need? Thanks in advance. Martin
  11. While I have a soft spot for FSX, I moved to P3Dv3 and liked it. Seeing as I have updated my rig to a gaming computer, I bought PD3v4.5. I am still getting used to it, but I do like it. Ok...I admit it 'does not blow my skirt up', but that's coz I don't wear one!!!
  12. Anybody alive on this joke topic...???? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
  13. Ok....I think that I will rename my handle to stupid! I went back to the site that I bought the REX Skyforce from and just noticed that it is a separate download for P3Dv4, with it being being a 64 bit system! Duh! Sorry and thanks for your help. Regards Martin (Now trots off into a corner to put his Dunces hat on!)
  14. I am trying to install REX Skyforce into P3Dv4.5. When I get the pop up window that asks what sim I want to install it in, P3Dv4 is grayed out! Any ideas...? Thanks. Martin

  16. Thanks Tim. That's what I LOVE about this site...very knowledgeable folk who are all too willing to help! Hopefully I will be able to do the same for some people in due course! I think that I will now be around a bit more than I have lately, as I was getting very frustrated with my old PC and FSX and got involved in other stuff. Hopefully, things will get better now that I have a more capable PC which is optimized for gaming. (Actually, it's amazing how much quicker it does other stuff too, like Adobe Photoshop Elements.....it just zips along!) Have a great day and stay safe.
  17. I have just move to P3D4.5. Still trying to get used to it. I am having a few issues.
  18. Certainly a troubling time for Boeing. I liked the Boeing 737 in FSX and want to try and find a nice one for PD3V4 sometime soon (a later version with those big turbofans!)
  19. Thanks! Aerosoft do indeed do good stuff. I have a few military aircraft of theirs too. I know what you mean about FSX stuff that is not compatible with PD3. I do have a softspoft for FSX, so may try it again on my new PC. I miss the CaptainSim Boeing 707 and C-130! I am on PD3 V3, but hope to move up to V4 soon. (I don't think my pc will handle V5). How is the C-130 Hercules and F-16 on P3D v4 and 5? Take care and stay safe. Martin
