  1. I've personally never experienced any issues with any amount of RAM causing slow downs. As long as the memory is correctly paired there should be zero issue. Some motherboards require the integrated graphics to be set to Max ram (~400Mb) when using more than 16Gb due to some bios issues.
  2. Hey Mark another consideration is the drive you have the flightsim loaded on. I've have two 250Gb SSDs and a 4th gen it chip and have not experienced any issues. I'm also running 16Gb of RAM so it all contributes. You're dead on about this being a top place with lots of helpful folks!
  3. Going through this process myself at the moment with sbuilderx, fset, and ade. Sooo much to learn.
  4. OMG, those screencaps have blown me away. Just stunning!
  5. Yea that's what I'm doing now (along with FSEarthTiles generating a bucket ton of orthophoto) and I'm trying to update Lukla, but I may end up just grabbing Lukla X from Aerosoft. But I've already got my high fidelity mesh (rolled it myself with the ALOS data) and orthophotos so we'll see how we go.
  6. And I'm learning all about creating scenery for P3D for my leg as I write this!
  7. I've seen her on SimOutHouse and she's on my list, right after a whole bunch of others though...
  8. Apparently this will fix some sound issues (64bit sound gauge dll) http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php/106389-64-bit-sound-gauge-for-the-DDW-C-47?p=1089916
  9. Yea? All the panels and gauges work? Will have to check what version I'm running. I can fly her no dramas and I didn't notice any real issues but checking the logs last night quite a few DLLs for her were reporting as 32bit and not loading.
  10. Really hoping they update their DLLs for 64 bit so I can use her in P3D v4. Getting content errors when she loads.
  11. Wowsers! Nice shots. That Manfred Jahn's C-47?
  12. No need to integrate coolers unless you're over clocking. Now that P3D is 64bit the more system and video memory the better.
  13. Slow is not quite the word I was thinking of... More like pedestrian! Though it's an amazing VFR plane with those big windows all around.
  14. I have every button and axis mapped native in P3D with the new drivers There's even updated plugins for the X-52 MFD
  15. Yea make sure you clean out any old drivers. They didn't label them obviously though so I think it was "smart technology software" or something like that. Clear that crap out, download and install the shiny new 64bit drivers =) and profit. Just got my Combat Flight Pedals today so looking forward to getting them home!
  16. Hey Fintan, Welcome aboard, you're just in time to sign up for the Around the World Challenge! I've got all Saitek gear and use the latest drivers from Logitech (they bought Saitek) and works beautifully on P3D v4 and X-Plane (I'm also running Windows 10) Flight Yoke (if you have it) http://support.logitech.com/en_au/product/flight-sim-yoke-system/downloads X-52 HOTAS http://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/x52-pro-space-flight-simulator-controller/downloads
  17. Ohhh can you point me to this as that sounds like fun! One I'm planning at the moment is a Helicopter Lord of the Rings tour of New Zealand using the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings Location Guidebooks to plan the route. A lot of the locations aren't really going to be much from the air so it's going to be which ones to do that will provide a good impact. (Would love it if someone would do a Hobbiton or Edoras scenery though!)

    A big thank you

Reminds me I have to finish the tutorial I started writing for here! @wain definitely echo those sentiments as this is a great place! Need more Aussies so we can go out for a drink sometime! Anytime you're in Melbourne Australia let me know!
  19. So pumped about this! Now to figure out the legs I want to fly and the birds and Sims to fly them!
