I'm glad the water was calm!

Terribly sorry for missing it... Well, happy belated birthday Kieran, and I hope you had a great time!
-
Fantastic! If you hadn't said the last one was FS, I would have certainly though it was a photo!
-
Yes, it is Prague Ruzyne! Joe, I think you got that first, so back to you. And Rob, I hope you have a great trip. Ruzyne is a really nice airport (and the city is spectacular as well - been there a few times).
-
Really nice! I already have the scenery, and it is just beautiful!
-
Interesting - I knew when I tried out P3D (thanks PC Pilot!) that it didn't seem much better than FSX in terms of performance, and this certainly confirms that! No need to waste $600 then! (but even if the performance was better, I would have stuck with FSX)

Nice shots Jim! Graham, I'm thinking it's the CLS model (or is it Wilco?).
-
Longer ago than that (and I said Europe was the right continent). Here's another screenie: The aircraft is a clue in this one (I hope it's not too easy?).
-
Okay, another clue? I believe a certain A380 began flights there not too long ago.

Very nice! #5 is a stunner!
-
Very nice! FSX has needed this.
-
Similar size... The weather in the shot is about right for what the area receives this time of year (I think).
-
No, but right continent!

Thanks Joe! I guess it was easier for us FSX users! (only took me a few seconds) Okay, so I suppose it's my turn. How's about this: Addon scenery is present here. Shouldn't be too hard, so I won't give any clues for now. (but I should probably say that the aircraft certainly doesn't belong there! )

Mind if I jump in? I'm going to guess Friday Harbour, KFHR.
-
Okay, thanks! It worked fine.

I don't know what it is about this one, but I just think the sky and environment is very realistic (but please, do pardon the cockpit and text!).
-
So this can be installed right over the old version? (no need to uninstall first?)

I am not an expert on these things, but here's how I see it: As far as I know, there are two main parts to what you see on the ground - the main colour stuff, and then the bump map/texture thing (?). The main colour/texture is usually what changes with different addon airports and sceneries (you can easily notice it). This is what makes the ground look like green grass, white snow, or, if it's photoreal, then whatever is on the photo or satellite image. Then there's another layer which goes on top of that, and it gives the ground it's 3Dish texture. That's what your taking about here. FS co

Oh, one more thing! I almost forgot - make sure you have HIGHMEMFIX=1 (or something like that) in your fsx.cfg. Easy way to get it there -> http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html.

Well, let's face it, you're never going to get a perfectly stable FSX with no crashes, errors, etc... My FSX usually crashes about once in every ten or fifteen flights, so you're not alone. But as Mikael said, it is likely an issue with the RAM and graphics card VRAM, where FSX simply doesn't have enough. Here are a few things you can try: - turn down some of the settings in FSX, like scenery, weather, AI traffic, etc. - if you're using HD textures in REX, try something lighter, like 1024. That's what I use, and it works and looks great (I find it to be more realistic than the HD textures

I'll give it a go tomorrow, see how I do... Okay, maybe not! I'll leave it to the pros.

Goheen -> Hanel Field via Mt Adams (then run out of runway) hehe

Jim, I agree with you. I also have the Skymaster, and I find quite challenging to land (more so than other GA aircraft). I think I must have snapped those twig-like landing gear more than a few times! But... practice makes perfect! -

HEHE yeah another case of RTFM - I am obviously going to blame the runway conditions I am struggling with the approach tbh - my general rule of thumb when I have no approach plates is to start a descend from around 2000 feet about 5nm out from the strip at around 400/500 fpm - most of my GA aircraft tend to have a landing speed of around 80knots so I keep to that too with flaps full in doing this I tend to be hitting the runways half way down and then not being able to stop in time - I'm no pilot so please excuse the nooby as for me it is trial and error at the moment and still getting used
