  1. I worked in air traffic at RAF Tengah, Singapore, 69-71, where 74 Sqn were based. A normal Lightning sortie was planned for 1h 10m - just time to do a couple of practice intercepts, return for a run and break, one overshoot into the circuit and land. Don't try and do a roller (touch and go) or you'll burst the tyres! Lightings had a tailhook, and the runway was equipped with a hookwire and a mesh barrier at the upwind end (RHAG - Rotary Hydraulic Arrester Gear) that could be raised to catch errant aeroplanes. Normal landing clearance from the tower would be '...cleared to land, hookwire up. b
  2. Sounds like fuel isn't getting through to ignite. When you use Ctrl+E, look closely in the cockpit to see if anything moves that you hadn't previously noticed. Rob.
  3. Sorted, thanks. I'm usind nVidia, although I'm not sure if there's much difference. I'll find out tonight.
  4. I don't really understand how to get the external FPS limiter to work; any advice folks, please? Rob.
  5. I installed GenX directly into P3D, which worked fine, then discovered it had vanished from FSX. I tried to reinstall but it insisted on going to P3D no matter what. I uninstalled P3D, then Treescapes insisted on going to P3D even though it was uninstalled. I've cleared out the Registry and got FSX working again, and installed P3D on the lappie, well away from anything else. Rob.
  6. Plan-G connected to Prepar3D immediately. it's using the FSX database, which is what I want. I simply clicked 'connect' and the yellow aeroplane icon appeared, and it works perfectly. I haven't yet tried a database build from P3D. Rob.
  7. What I want more than anything is Vatsim to work - I understand SB4 can be used with Simconnect but I haven't got my head around it yet as Simconnect isn't my favourite subject... I installed photo scenery and VFR Airports successfully, but when I went back to FSX (on the same drive) all my Treescapes had vanished, so some investigation needed. Rob.
