Just wanted to share something i stumbled across recently relating to missing runways within the Southampton area of ORBX add on scenery.. For me, it was Lee-on-Solent, my local field where i take lessons (EGHF), so missing parts of the runway was a bit of a disaster, but for this field, at least, there is a solution: If you have both Orbx England and Orbx Southampton, there appears to be an overlap which causes the missing scenery, so what you need to do is the following: In the Orbx England Scenery folder, locate the 3 EGHF files MOVE them from the EU England 'E

Did anyone get this yet? Wondered if there was any feedback with an addon aircraft like PMDG / IFLY / MAJESTIC DASH etc, live weather REX / AS16 etc? Any real slow down problems when you got low near airports? Also any slowdowns when using Carenado? They seem to be a real hog in XP but not so sure in p3d4..... I have read Andrews review so I am aware of his findings but wanted a bit more of a wider feedback....

Hi guys, After still struggling to get used to XP11, and as well as there not being a traffic program I deem acceptable, it was time to upgrade to P3Dv4. After spending the last 3 days tweaking and working out my best configs for graphic/performance combo, I was finally able to undertake my first flight. Unfortunately, I didn't realise the quality loss by saving my files as PNG on standard P3D screenshot, but I have managed to salvage a few. Back to JPEG from now on! Hope you enjoy.. Picked this area up in the sale, Southern California......quick trip from KSEE to KSNA.......had to turn of AS16 as the cloud was so low......using one of my A2A craft.....I do think I can adjust the settings it seems to me on performance I could possibly dial up the detail a notch or 2 more....

The FTX Central 3 debacle continues... I have several boxed copies of ORBX add ons which i purchased from 'Flightstore' ... NOT 'Flight Sim Store' How on earth do Install those? I can't find anything on the Orbx forum as everything relates to FSS. Am i being thick here? What on earth do i do with them? I'm already looking at the possibility of having to re-purchase all the Orbx software that hubby bought for me from FSS (which refuses to transfer them to me), and i am going to go spare if i have to re-purchase everything from Flightstore as well

A close collaboration between ORBX and IPACS, both teams have been quietly working away at this over the past months, bringing together the ground-breaking visual engine of Aerofly FS2 with the high detail and immersion you have come to expect from an ORBX HD Airport. For those who haven't had a chance to try AF FS2 yet, I strongly urge you to check it out. As a VFR experience, this is the best sim currently on the market, hands down. As you can see from the screenshots below, there is a clear mark-up in terrain quality - mountains look crisp, photoreal roads and railways are disce

John Venema has just posted his end of year review of 2016 and an exciting insight on what to expect in 2017, I encourage you to take a look here http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/127182-orbx-2017-roadmap/ especially at their top secret projects for 2017. The tantalising tidbits (except one, Orbx Direct) end in the words " Oh, and it will be 64-bit"! (Stumped! VR dedicated)? (DoveTail Flight Sim?) (Prepar3D v4?) (X-PLANE 11?) (Orbx Direct/FTXC?) Discuss?

News in from John Venema Hello everyone, For some time now we've felt that there has been some disparity between the features and content of our airports versus their pricing. So we spent some time creating a matrix of features of each airport which resulted in them being placed in one of three tiers; Silver, Gold or Platinum. What we found was that pricing all Orbx airports at Platinum pricing was taking away the unique extra value provided by airports with added features such as bonus airfields, helipads, large photoreal ar

Valdez is a small town in southern Alaska. It is also one of the most important ports of Alaska with the Trans-Alaska pipeline ending here. This incredibly scenic place is a popular tourist location, famous for its marine life and glaciers, and it also offers heli-skiing tours. We have included the entire bay of Valdez with the town, oil terminal and of course a highly detailed rendition of the Valdez Pioneer Field airport. The location of Valdez, surrounded by the mountains and glaciers, is a very fascinating place to discover. It's simply a very beautiful place that never stops to amaze. Val

So I updated my old 172 chrome livery to have my normal registration - it used to be 'JD-29' as I was 29 when I painted her and was only just getting into the simming world back then. It was not so easy as I had a custom alpha on this one too so a bit more fiddling than usual. Well I took her out for an hours flight from East Midlands to Welshpool and grabbed a shot after parking...

Flight simulation has been intertwined with the legendary Meigs Field for decades. Few airports hold as much nostalgia, familiarity, and emotion for aviation enthusiasts. Located on the coast of Lake Michigan, Meigs Field operated as the gateway to corporate Chicago for over half a century. Now, twelve years after its closure, Merrill C. Meigs Field (KCGX) has been recreated with the utmost attention to detail and accuracy. Depicted as it was in its final years, virtual pilots are welcomed to return to what was once the busiest single strip airport in the United States and enjoy it in hig
