adrians69 159
Here is the latest addition to my ever growing hangar, a beautiful model of the classic Bristol Brittania propliner. I am a fan of the old props and this is one of my all time favourites. A'int she gorgeous?

britfrog 180
The whispering giant! , great plane to fly in, sadly overtaken by the jet age,but very comfy with lots of room. Did you know that the first class section was at the rear of the a/c????, the only plane so configured I believe, "not a lot of people know" that as michael caine would say . mike H 456
Great a/c that picture takes me back abit My dad worked for BOAC at Heathrow from the early 50's into the mid 60's. As a young boy I went to BOAC,s childrens Xmas parties held in one of their hangars. the best bit was to have a look over most of the aircraft and I will always remember that my Fav. was " The Whispering Giant ". I was lucky by chance to fly in one of Eagle Airways Britts. in the late 60's back from a holiday in Rimini as our BAC 1-11 had gone tech. Nice one she was just great to fly in. Those were the days. The only worrying thing was the pile of inflated dinghies at the back of the cabin. I never did find out why they were there.

dodgy-alan 1,587
Beautiful aircraft, I flew on a British Eagle one on one occasion when my dad was delivering to them and had a 2 hour stopover. they took the aircraft up on a test flight and I was invited along for the ride. It was a huge aircraft( to a 7 year old especially!) I also "visited" many others with BOAC, Monarch and Brtannia Airways. There is a great freeware Britannia available on many websites. JBK do a fantastic one. Well worth finding.
jaydor 345
If I tell you I flew to Hong Kong with Eagle Air in one, as they were contracted to the army for toop movements, you will then know that I am a senior teenager. 27 hours, stopping at Kuwait, Bombay and Bangkok for refuelling. That was 1963 and the return journey was in 1966 again in the Britt with Eagle.
