Make sure you run the addon as administrator - if in doubt - right click the executable and choose run as admin

Also go to control panel and click 'System and security' - you will see an entry for User Account Control Settings - I disable this

Hope one of these helps?

...the "Read only" bullsh*t from W7...

Maybe the others understand what that means - I sure don't.  Can you give a little more specific information about just what is happening?

John

Sorry John

By total reinstall fsx and addons, all went ok untill I started FTX ORBX, after a few of them the FTX central freezes when switching between regions with this message/

was ingeschakeld.

Bijvoorbeeld:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

Wanneer JIT-foutopsporing is ingeschakeld, worden onverwerkte uitzonderingen

Something shouldn't get acces to my FSX map, wich is read only marked for some unknown reason and I can't get it off, not even as full admin.

Tried manny thing they told me at ORBX support, but no sollution.

Started all over now and keep fingers crossed ;)

Thanks

Hi Dolf!

A question: do you have your fsx installed in the default location, or somewhere else (such as C:\fsx)?

I'm just wondering if it's another of those crazy W7 permissions things.....? If you install in the default location then you run foul of the fact that all the stuff under there is owned by "Trusted installer", the result being that with W7 you (or your installed fsx apps) can't write to various locations because the security model won't let you (unless you're "Trusted installer", which you're not (trust me!)).

So if you are having these problems because you have installed in the default location, take a look here — http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/  (it just might help).

But if you're installed elsewhere, I'm barking up the wrong tree.   :P

Good luck,

Brian

Hi Brian, thanks for reply. My FSX is installed on the root of drive D, now I figured out, I removed all ORBX, installed other addons with no problem. Think there must be something going wrong with FTXGlobal install that's where it started.

The previous install of Global gave me no probs at all.

I'll keep trying

Cheers
