mutley 4,487
Interesting video, see the A340 from many angles
jaydor 345
Different, loved that closing shot into the clouds..
ddavid 149
Brilliant catch, Joe, one of the best carrir vids I've seen - even recognised the place! Funny that the sea has almost the same colour as FSX! Cheers - Dai.
mutley 4,487
Easy to see how this would attract aspiring pilots!
hifly 925
Excellent vid Makes me want to dust off a 340.
brett 2,280
That was way cool. The clouds are depicted in lots of different variations, beautiful. Posted after recovering from epileptic fit.
GHAO 0
Makes me want to dust off my A340s... and I just flew one There's something FSX just misses when you see videos of real aircraft, and that's the sheer beauty of not just the world but of the aircraft as well! Captain Coffee 2,030
Very nice. I just done a few hauls around Tahiti in a new to me Payware DC-3 right before finding this post. Looked like Rex Texures + . Wish addon texture clouds would swirl around like that when you pass through.
Bruce (a.k.a. brian747) 142
Great vid, thanks Joe! An obvious (in retrospect) point that somehow never struck me before — of course the Captain gets paid more: he has to land it using that little sidestick left-handed! Cheers, B. hifly 925
Good point Brian and as I'm left (cack) handed I'd be an... er hum, ideal candidate for a Captain. However, like you I don't have space for a yoke and rely on a Thrustmaster Hotas X which is biased for right handers, throttle to the left, stick to the right. TBH I'm so used to it now that if I swapped sides my control would be worse than it already is. Therefore I should sit in the F/O's seat but never do. Having said that, I rarely fly Airbuses, too much FBW, FMCs, for my taste and the cockpits are so austere, (public toilets come to mind). Modern Boeing pits are much easier on the eye. If you'd enjoy some Boeing nostalga check out my screenies in 'Lets Fly to Tahiti'. Best,
brett 2,280
Those joysticks look funny in a modern airplane. I think I would prefer the traditional yoke for lots of reasons, the most important is for emergencies, at least you would have something substantial to hold on to.
hifly 925
I prefer my yoke to be runny. Poached egg and anchovies.
brett 2,280
Something fishy about that joke.
