Free Fuel Planning Spreadsheet for 737NGX

Recommended Posts

I created a free Excel spreadsheet that will calculate your fuel load for any given trip for the 737NGX.

You can down load it here: http://www.SimChecklist.net/737NGX_Fuel_Planning.xls

I also made a YouTube video on how to use it.

That video is on my YouTube Channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/rfresh1011

Look for it near the bottom of this video list.

Enjoy!

Thanks Brett.

I'm in the middle of making my latest training videos for the 737NGX - this series is on the MCP. I hope to release to my YouTube Channel in a couple of weeks. If anyone is interested in this training series, they should subscribe to my YouTube Channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/rfresh1011

In the mean time, I added to my SimChecklist app, to-do list: I'm going to add the fuel planning logic from my spreadsheet, to this checklist app. I'll add a window that will have all of the same data as the spreadsheet so folks will be able to calculate their fuel load inside SimChecklist. As you know from my fuel loading video, the logic follows the exact steps from PMDG on calculating a 737NGX fuel load.

I originally wanted to automate this process 100% inside SimChecklist, but PMDG does not currently support developers with their FMC SDK (Software developers Kit) product. I had a conversation with PMDG over the weekend about this and they are going to add my 'request' for this support in their next SP release for the 737NGX. So, I'm hoping they will give us this capability. I'm only asking for Read capability of the FMC fuel data, not Read/Write.

Until then, folks can continue to use my spreadsheet (which will remain available) or take advantage of it when I get around to incorporating it into my SimChecklist app.

Hi Ralph.

An interesting calculator.  I don't fly the 737NGX as I limit my self to RAF aircraft.  However there are a few aircraft foe which a fuel calculator is vital, the most prominent of these being the English Electric Lightning.

I guess the fuel consumption for all FSX/P3D aircraft is built into the data on the aircraft somewhere and could, with a bit of effort, be used to drive a more general fuel calculation spreadsheet along the lines of the one you have built.

Does anyone know where this data is for FSX?  I guess it will either be built into the model its self, and therefore not accessible, or be in a config file, in which case be extractable.
