Leg 6 - EDLP Lippstadt-EDDH Hamburg

Recommended Posts

Lots of shots from a very eventful flight. My C206 kept loosing power and then getting it back again! So here we go...

Our aircraft awaits us as a bright and breezy EDLP

All set, let's go

2.jpg

Could be close!

3.jpg

5.jpg

Waiting for the ATR to depart

6.jpg

My turn

7.jpg

Rolling

8.jpg

Gently lifting into the sky, but we need to turn away from the runway quickly

9.jpg

Becasue this Scarebus is about to come after us

10.jpg

Everything is looking good

11.jpg

Spoke too soon, we have lost engine power

12.jpg

Best turn back to Lippstadt as a precaution and change aircraft

13.jpg

Hmm, we have some power again

14.jpg

Oh well, everything seems good so we will turn around again and head back to Hamburg

15.jpg

Lots of traffic around, nothing in our way though

16.jpg

Things are looking good

17.jpg

Might get a bit bumpy when we go through the rain to the next waypoint though

18.jpg

Rain drops are falling, nothing too bad though

19.jpg

Good job we are sticking to our filed altitude, this could have been messy!

21.jpg

Lots of clouds, not giving us a great view as we progress.

22.jpg

Hannover airport down below, not much activity there but a 757 has just departed.

23.jpg

There are no shortage of airfields on this route, just as well considering the problems we are having with the engine

24.jpg

Our next flight leg will take us away from the rain and towards Hamburg

25.jpg

Weather is clearing up

26.jpg

The sun is very low in the sky as winter begins to take it's hold on Europe

27.jpg

This could get bumpy!

28.jpg

Not today though as the engine has lost power again and we are going to dip under the clouds

29.jpg

Mysteriously the power returns

30.jpg

I think we should route direct to the airport incase of any more mishaps

31.jpg

IFR anyone?

32.jpg

Looks like we have a clear run to the airport

33.jpg

Gently descending, the temperature is descending quicker though!

34.jpg

Hamburg below

35.jpg

Runway 05 in sight, thankfully I got a straight in approach

36.jpg

We hit a pocket of turbulance and gained a bit of height, steeply descending over the football ground to get back with the glideslope

37.jpg

The power has gone once again, skimming the treetops now. Not where you want a lack of power!

38.jpg

Our hero breathes a sigh of relief as he touches down

39.jpg

Just got to wait for this 737 to land and get off the runway

40.jpg

All parked and secure after a fun and eventful flight

42.jpg

We were even given an airline gate, such is the popularity of the ATWCII

43.jpg

Over to you VACS007, the baton is under the bar

 I was captivated Rob, great post!

Great commentary and pictures, thanks for getting the baton to Hamburg safely, oh yes get that aircraft looked at.

As for getting parking at the gate you will be surprised what perks you get when you mention the challenge :thum:

Hope you enjoyed the flight.

Cheers
