I took the plunge

Recommended Posts

Did my first complete flight from Naples to Rome Ciampino with the Commando.

Even on conservative graphics settings (I don't want to melt my laptop!) it has been a nice experience. Cockpit shadows give a great sense of immersion.

Edit: sorry for shuffled images :gaah:

Well after the initial enthousiasm I reverted to FSX-SE. Simply can't stand without IVAP and some of my preferred addons which are not compatible as of today.

I could have kept both installs but not enough space on my SSD.

Sad thing I have to say, the 64bit environment is such a huge step forward.

Maybe on next PC upgrade.

yeah that is a real shame, I went the other way, seeing the progress of 64bit wth Xplane I eventually left P3D, however now it's 64bit a whole new world has opened up, no OOM worries, and it seems for me to run smoother at quite high detailed setiings, yes I miss Aerosofts A320 and they now say it won't be ready until next year, never mind I have other stuff and as long as I have AS16/REX and now thanks to SPADnext my Saitek panels I am reasonably happy.....

Shame you didn't have space to keep both installed, I have kept my free copy of FSW installed just in case they get it to look a little less cartoon like....

I do still fly both XP11 and P3D4, there's no way I could choose.....
