First off, a neat shot, but not really an entry...

Mutleys-Mission_Joe_And_Sharon_At_End.jpg

This was taken of Sharon and the Boss (Who He? - Ed) at the end of Mutley's Mission - But...

On a more serious note, how's about the Boeing B747-4J6(LCF) Dreamlifter just lifting off from EGHI:

Maybe more to come - if I can get the blighter into the paintshop! :whis:

Cheers - Dai.

Then a BA 744 blasting off Dubai airport on a hot summers day

And finally, after a long 12 hour flight this MD-11 starts its descend into Tokyo as the sun starts to rise. The moon is still visible in the early morning sky

Silly question, but, one I need to ask, what Military planes are classed as wide bodied, as none of them have seats ??

Something like a C130, what about a Nimrod ??

Thanks.

Transport Steve.

Hi Steve

I don't think Nimrod would be a good choice but so long as they look fat like the C130 Fat Albert! The big American (Or other) Military lifters would be "wide body" without having a pax layout.

Enjoy!

Having passenger seats onboard isn't a requirement for being a widebody. The 747F has no seats and we all know it's a widebody.

But I'd say as far as military aircraft go, the C5 is definitely qualifies. Probably the C-141 as well.

Very good Sir, thank you, I'll have to put my thinking cap on then.

Thanks to Seatac also.

Cheerz. Steve.

A wide body is generally considered to be an aircraft that can have more than one aisle in the case of pax or can carry containers side by side or outside cargo. The Nimrod was based on the Comet, A single aisle narrow body airliner.

In my book, if you can close the pilot-side door without the passenger being popped out of his door (or without outside help), and two of you in the plane doesn't count as "second base" at the slightest movement, then it's a wide body... ;)

A Boeing...thing, landing at Logan. And yes, I know that technically this is a blended-body aircraft, but, it's also as wide as it gets!
