p.s. are these the original settings of flightsim ? i still can remember i´ve done that, that everytime the heli crashed, due too hard on ground. also with functional rotors no way. except i changed the settings to low.

I'm using standard FSX settings, Max, but I have a home built collective/cyclic made out of an old joystick:

Having a more realistic collective certainly helps with helicopter control as this is crucial to hovering. I find that flaring with the cyclic is not sufficient to set down at the end of a autorotation - you have to pull up with the collective to cushion the landing. Mind you, in the above video, the landing is not as smooth as I'd have liked.

You should nail a bit of old carpet to it though, it'll save you from getting splinters in your feet .

Took a few attempts, Micke - the key is flaring, at the end, with the collective: too soon and you you lose the glide and drop like a stone - too late and you 'hit the ground running', not to be recommended with skids!
