What's Your Favorite Plane To Fly?

Recommended Posts

For Jets it's the NGX from PMDG without a doubt.

When it comes to smaller GA the Cessna Caravan is what I tend to use, either that or the BN Islander.

Aerosoft Beaver, A2A Piper Cub mostly but I have many freeware aircraft and I enjoy flying different ones on a whim and a flight plan. Mixing things up is what keeps FSX fresh and interesting to me.

At the moment the Carenado C185F is my favourite (flying in Air Hauler).

It can land anywhere, can fly in IFR conditions, has a decent range and a big payload for a small plane.

For larger prop planes the A2A B-17 and 377 are unbeatable. The PMDG 737NGX is my favourite jet.

For FSX ... so many, I fly the stock King Air 350 a lot and I think there is an after market one out now that I might try, love the Aerosoft Twin Otter and Captain Sim C-130 for a bit of heavy iron.

Single prop - Caravan (great minds, Rob!)

Twin prop - C'mon, is there anything remotely close to the Dizzie?!?

4-engined prop - Before the DC-6B, I'd have said the Lanc, but not sure now...

Military jet - beta testing an absolute beaut' right now - watch this space!

Commercial jet - got to be the B727

Military helicopter - UH-1D (Aerosoft)

Commercial helicopter - Bell 206B (Dodo-Sim)

That covers most of the options, I guess.

Cheers - Dai.

P-51's by A2A and warbirdsim are my favorites, otherwise A2A's P-47 and B-17, Aerosoft Catalina, Carenado V35B and Caravan, and every once in a while things like the CS 707 and 727, the Bronco, the DH89, and the Cub (to scare Heidi).

Mostly to watch the paint dry though....
