  18. ...for those with wide view monitors...there is the turn on WideVIewAspect as in P3D. Well, quess what..it is in the Flightsimulator.cfg file on line 30...with it turned off..but IT IS THERE... I just set mine to WideViewAspect=1 and saved with Note Plus + or you can use Notepad. That will correct your fish eye when you go to External Camera, as well as when you pan inside the cockpit..on a wide view monitor such as a 3440x1440. Fish Eye gone... Thanks to Sesquashtoo on Avsim Update: You will have to reset your WideViewAspect after your latest updates, as it reset's t
  19. These two links below provide some excellent guidance on how to optimise the settings in MSFS for performance without compromising the experience. The second link specifically provides interesting information and detailed analysis of each of the graphics setting. This link was previously posted in another thread and is reposted here due to the similarity of the content. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2020-flight-simulator-optimised-settings-for-next-gen-experience https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/how-to-graphics-settings-and-performance-guide-8-18-2020/132407
  20. For anyone who may be having connectivity problems with the new sim, it could be down to your router not having the correct ports open. You may have been through this before with FS2004, FSX, or P3D. We covered this topic when the old FSX Gamespy multiplayer service was terminated and we all had to connect directly. Jess wrote a guide at the time here .. Here's a brief summary. Before you can forward a port you need to know the following things: Your router's IP address. Your FS machine's IP address. The TCP and UDP ports that need to be forwarded. IP address
  21. Many of us have been struggling to get our Logitech (Saitek) panels to work natively with MSFS, one option is to pay for SPADnexT which is a fantastic tool but not that easy to easy to work with. Now, Logitech (the new owners of Saitek) have released a Microsoft Flight Simulator Plug-in so why update? The new driver adds support for all Logitech Flight Panels (Instrument, Switch, Multi and Radio) into Microsoft Flight Simulator. Note that at the time of release, you will need to start a flight in Flight Simulator, then browse to your desktop and run the "Logitech Microsoft Simulator
  22. Plan-G is a free VFR flight planner for MSFS series, P3D and X-Plane. It’s been available since 2008, from http://www.tasoftware.co.uk. The current release (3.2.2) gives access to MSFS through SimConnect or FSUIPC There is also a public alpha of v4 available through the forum. v4 is a major overhaul to the program, the main benefit to MSFS users is that it can read MSFS nav data, whereas the current release version relies on having data available from another sim. So, which build do I need? With one exception, 32-bit will do just fine. That exception is building a database for M
  23. Bush Trips in the new sim certainly seem to be popular, and new trips generated by the community are starting to appear. It seemed to me to be a good idea to start listing them. This one takes us around Idaho: https://msfsbushtrips.com/idaho-bush-trip-for-microsoft-flight-simulator-2020/
