  1. An announcement from Ed Correia over at orbx This third patch for FTX New Zealand South Island delivers new and updated content, most notably the new night lighting system, and fixes a number of issues posted by users or discovered by our team members. It is for both the DVD and download versions of the original retail release of ORBX FTX NZSI. Service Pack 3 is cumulative, meaning it includes all updates and bug fixes from the previous NZSI service packs! Please make sure that FTX Central is set to Oceania before running this patch !! this to avoid potential error reports regarding airport elevation adjustment files. Note that the installer will also do this process for you before installation can continue. Unzip the NZSI SP3 installer package and run "OrbxFTXNZSIPatch003.exe". Read the provided information and then proceed with the installation. The installer will find the correct location of your FSX or P3D directory (based on your current Windows registry entries for FSX/P3D) and complete the installation. After the installation FTX Central will automatically start with the active region set to “Oceania”. Select the region you want to use, then click on “Apply” and close FTX Central before starting FSX/P3D. Download from here
  2. The Eighth Wonder of the World. Orbx's first NZ airport is in one of New Zealand's most famous tourist destinations. Milford Sound is a fjord in the south west of New Zealand's South Island. It is situated within the Fiordland National Park, Piopiotahi Marine Reserve and the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage Site. This is another stunning piece of artwork by Andreas Hegi and Heiko Glatthorn and they have created 3 airports for you to enjoy here. Included with Milford Sound Airport is NZMJ Martins Bay and the very tricky T004 Quintin Lodge. A perfect compliment to our award winning New Zealand South Island region, this is a must have for all lovers of GA flying! - Ground imagery at 30cm per pixel - Fully custom modeled airports and lodges - Three airports - NZMF, T004 & NZMJ - Demanding approaches for all 3 airfields - Ship traffic with authentic models - Orcas swiming in the Sound - Dense vegetation options for amazing realism - Includes most Orbx Flow tech - Beautiful landscapes and imagery - By Heiko Glatthorn & Andreas Hegi For further details, screenshots and to purchase visit The FlightSim Store: http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_info.php?products_id=2246
  3. ... or, The South Island of New Zealand (unless google has seriously misled me!) This started out as a trip to Golden Bay and Farewell Spit, but I got a little distracted on the way…! Well, here I am in Nelson, giving the plane a quick once over. Departing runway 02. This is a payware quality airport that would easily sell for £15 from many other developers. This is the Nelson CBD and port. The airport is visible on the right. I'm now heading out towards Abel Tasman, following the coast, and here I'm approaching the town of Motueka. Just past Motueka is Kaiteriteri, subject of many a picture postcard. Further round the headland, we reach the Awaroa Inlet The Awaroa Lodge Hotel is only accessible by plane/helicopter, boat, or on foot! I think we'll pay a visit. That little green patch is the landing strip... Final. This is very much a one way in-one way out kind of place! Nice thing about the 182 is its STOL nature, and we have absolutely no trouble getting in. Taxi up to the top of the hill, and we should find the lodge...
