here we are then chaps, after a good 3 hour's of fairly ineventful flight and who knows how many NM's covered, here's Leg 9 completed and the baton rests at Merahbad Intl. (OIII) in Tehran, Iran for for now. Any takers for the 10th Leg?

No commentary, I'll let SamDim's breathtaking representation of the Tupolev TU114 do all the talking, and let you all sit bak, enjoy the ride and oogle at the images. Oh, and please try not to get drool on your keyboards!

(Steady Mullet!)

Well done Simi, that's another leg chalked up.

Interesting shots, I would get that camera checked out though some of those shots hurt my eyes :nervious:

So don't hold back anyone who wants to take on the next leg!

i'm quite happy to accept that offer chris, where do you propose to take your bird? remember, we're going around the world, so east would be a good general direction to follow.

Chris,

Simi has given you the go ahead to fly. On this occasion I don't mind you going west to Tel Aviv as Mullet wants to fly out from there on the next leg.

So go for it! Post in a new thread, good luck!

Cheers

Hmm, Dunno when i will be able to fly it though. I might continue going west, even though it is thw wrong direction, to explore South Africa. Unless of course you want to fly the SA legs after the USA (flying into Madrid, then dwon to CPT, then back up to the UK?)

Still, looking forward to the Tel Aviv arrival. :mrhappy:

Ok,

Fred doesn't have the availability to do the leg after Chris so lets continue east and do Africa last :mrhappy:

Chris perhaps you can take it from here? Go for it!

Actually, if it goes to Tel Avaiv, im pretty sure i can take in on to another destination tomorrow evening. (although few flights go east)

EDIT:

Yep, i can take it to Mumbai after Tel Aviv. It will be in a bit of a mundane aircraft, but will get us somewhere... (El Al 737-800 or 777). Its also a fair old bit longer than 500nm.

Well I’m fine with the delay. I would actually prefer to do the flight from Tel Aviv Wednesday, because at the moment I wouldn’t be starting it until 18:00BST, and so the majority of the flight would be in the dark. Whereas if I took off Wednesday, I’m back home early, and could start the flight at 2:30BST (then at least the takeoffs in the sun).

Either way the good news is that I will be at Tel Aviv ready to fly on to the next leg tomorrow (rain or shine, night or day)

After Mumbai, why not take the baton to Kathmandu? There’s nothing then stopping us form taking it on to Lukla... :mrhappy:

I configured my flight plan last night, but as it was 1 in the morning, i couldnt fly it. Next chance i will have to fly is on Tuesday. I looked at mombai on the flight plan, and was thinking of going there, however, i thought it had already been flown to/from. Leg 10 will be woth you all in a couple of days. I will make a thread very soon. I will fly a virgin 744 (sorry, i just love that a/c), and estimated flight time to be around 1hr 40 mins.

LEG 10 OIII to TEL AVIV---Flown by Chris Eggleton, with you all on tuesday/wednesday

Thanks for the oppurtunity Mutley :mrhappy:

Read my above post. This is good news to me! (and to everyone else because it means you will have daylight shots!)

I think we could use the break anyway. Perhaps someone could fill the time with a little VFR flight around OIII - Mutley, dont you have an A36 in the hangar livery?

I did have Fred, I don't know if it survived my last pc crash though :mrhappy:

Still, I can't do any serious flying until Thursday.
