UT2 how to create a flight plan and assign it?

Hi,

 

So in the manual it says I need to create a new flight plan - I did this in Plan-G and saved - I used VORs to go from Darrington Muni to Olympia approx 137nm.

 

The manual then says to put this in the format '1S2-KOLM.pln' into the preferred routes folder - so I did this

 

Then I Create Addon Schedule manually and add a flight from and to the airports above - when I compile it puts a direct route between the airports and not using my plan.

 

How can I get UT2 to use my plan?

Apparently - if the route is short it will automatically go direct - so I created a longer route and it worked. Shame because I only wanted a short route for one of my AI

 

If anyone else has a solution for this give me a shout until then I will make do with the longer route
