dodgy-alan 1,587
Avro Lancastrian, converted about 15 years ago from an old Airfix Lancaster Bomber that had got a bit knocked about! I stripped the old warbird back to her component parts, then removed all the gun turrets. The fairings were a conversion kit. The result is what you see. The whole model is about 40 years old! Thanks for viewing.
rob16584 42
Great looking model Alan (they all are). Where do you find the space to put them all!
hifly 925
Good work Al. It must have been claustrophobic in there with those slits for windows. and I bet the passengers prayed the bomb doors had been decommissioned.
dodgy-alan 1,587
Great looking model Alan (they all are). Where do you find the space to put them all! They are mostly stored in boxes full of polychips, I've around 2,000 of them, Aircraft, Ships, Tanks, Cars, Spacecraft etc. Good work Al. It must have been claustrophobic in there with those slits for windows. and I bet the passengers prayed the bomb doors had been decommissioned. On the passenger carrying ones full size windows were fitted along the sides aft of the wing. However as the plastic was somewhat brittle after the time it had been sitting around I decided not to push my luck by cutting them out of the sides.
