dodgy-alan 1,587
The Bristol Brabazon was very much ahead of its time, yet was an anachronism at the same time. Designed to carry passengers across the Atlantic in extreme luxury, It was as big as an A300 Airbus yet only carried 100 passengers, albeit in extreme luxury. Inspite of offerring much, no-one wanted it and the aircraft was scrapped along with its Mk2 production aircraft that was unfinished at Bristols Filton factory. Only the first prototype ever flew. All was not lost however as much of the systems from the Brabazon found their way onto the highly successfull Britannia.
