Microsoft upgrade and Air Hauler

Recommended Posts

Can anyone give me any advice please. I have recently downloaded from Microsoft Internet Explorer V8. Now when I try to run AH, I can get as far as loading the initial screen, then when I try to open the company a screen comes up saying "Microsoft has stopped the operation as you and another user are trying to change data at the same time" There is then no other option than to exit AH.

I have tried all sorts of things to remove this block, so so far all attempts have proved entirely useless. I have the downloaded version of AH. When I was in the UK recently I bought the CD version to run on another computer, but I'm loath to load it and replace my existing version as my Reputation stands at 96%, and its been fun and hard work getting there.

You can imagine how I feel about Microsoft at the moment!!!!!!

Hi John and welcome to the Forum - make yourself at home! :thum:

As to your IE8 problem, why not un-install it (?!?) and see what happens? And, I guess, if you want a browser with all the bells and whistles, why not try Google Chrome? I'm not sure whether the others will agree with that, though.....

Cheers - Dai.

I'm using IE 8 on XP with FS9 and the latest version of AH (1.52, SP 3.9), with no problems at all.

If you want to try the CD version you can, but I don't think it will do much good and may need to be updated to the latest anyway. If you do that save the following to another location before un-installing and you should be able to restore your company with no problems...

1) Ah9.mdb (if FS9) or Ahx.mdb (if FSX), and user_details.mdb, all from the AirHauler root directory

2) Entire Company sub-folder, one level below the AH root.

If you restore those after a re-install, you should be fine.

Before going to that length, check your version of AH (Options -> About) it should be as above. I don't have time now but will check the tester's forum and the JF AH forum and see if I can see any record of similar symptoms. I don't recall this one.

OK, your solution is documented here. There are detailed instructions in the second post, from Slopey, who is the guy who wrote AH. Don't miss the part about backing up your company before doing it.

It appears you may not be updated to the current verision, as I suspected. That's at least part of the problem.
