TapA321 0
Hey Guys, Had a really random problem tonight, and no idea why it happened. I use the Saitek Pro Yoke (with throttle) and pedals, and haven't had any problems using them as of yet. However, for some reason tonight, when I plugged them both into my PC via USB, the yoke started to go a bit funny. Fired up FSX with no problems, but the yoke didn't respond on FSX (it normally just connects itself automatically). I also noticed that the clock and stopwatch on the Yoke weren't working properly. The clock was stuck at midnight and the stopwatch kept flicking on restarting itself. Despite this the pedals were working perfectly. So I went into Control panel, and as soon as I clicked on Device Manager -- Boom. Blue Screen of death. It said it was a System_Error but I didn't have time to read it because the PC restarted almost straight away. After the restart, the yoke worked again as normal. Could this have possibly just been a glitch? I also tried unplugging and replugging the yoke before I fired up Device Manager, but nothing changed. Does anyone else get weird random problems like this? Cos it always seems to be me. Cheers, George
allardjd 1,853
Get in contact with Saitek Tech Support with the problem. It definitely sounds like a hardware issue. A friend recently had a Saitek Yoke problem involving the timer and they took care of it very quickly at no cost to him. It involved sending it to them and I'm pretty sure they covered the shipping both ways. That doesn't sound like a configuration issue and doesn't sound like anything that is likely to fix itself. TapA321 0
Hi thanks for that advice, John. Do you know if your friend had bluescreen problems with it? It took me by surpirse a little.. and I also would have expected it to have said "Hardware Error" or something along those lines. Cheers, George
remingtonbox 18
Were your yoke LED buttons blinking? I have the Saitek joystick and all mine will do lately is the LEDs blink (unless I restart, then it works correctly for a while), nothing else. I wonder if that is a related issue? No, it was nothing to do with that. Quote Were your yoke LED buttons blinking? Yes, exactly that problem. When he talked to their tech support they seemed to understand immediately what the problem was and gave the impression that they had seen and heard it all before. They were very eager for him to return it and they got it back to him quickly. He's had no problems since that I'm aware of.
