Sabre 28
I started my FSX experience using my Saitek X5 Pro Joystick/Throttle, but after some time I decided to purchase a Saitek Yoke and Throttle Quadrant to add to the realism when flying modern GA aircraft. However I regularly swap between GA and old Warbirds for my flying and became extremely lazy in swapping over controls. Anyway long story short I've recently decided to stop being lazy with my joystick setup and use the appropriate controls for the aircraft I'm flying. I'm pretty happy with the controls setup for the yoke but other than the throttle lever itself I'm struggling to find a suitable use for the other buttons and two other levers on the quadrant. I just wondered what others have setup on their throttle quadrants for GA flying (I don't do big jets) and whether the setup is best done via FSX, Saitek Profile Manager, both or some other mysterious way. Has anyone got a Profile for a Saitek Yoke that they may be willing to share? Thoughts, views, opinions?
allardjd 1,853
There are a bunch of switches on the CH 6-lever throttle quadrant too - I use one for cowl flaps. Speed brakes/spoilers would be a good candidate too, if the AC has them. Anything you normally reach for the keyboard to do, particularly if it requires a shift, control or alternate key sequence is definitely something to think about programming to a button. John EDIT - Forgot about carb heat... JDA

Thoughts, views, opinions? Prop pitch and mixture maybe??? (and if you have a throttle on your joystick thats become redundant, you can map it to be your booster lever on the A2A Thunderbolt ) . you could also map one of the buttons to lock/unlock the tail wheel as well, thats a whole lot better than looking down and useing the mouse to do that task IMO .
