Be careful of what you wish for. That's exactly what MS hopes to "fix" and I don't think it's going to be a good thing for flight sim users. The only things that will be published will be what they see fit to publish. Competition breeds innovation and tends to keep prices lower than a single-source market. Every silver lining has a cloud... John Just making observations. It took me 10 years to buy an Apple product because of it's "closed" environment, but now I have a MacBook, iPad, iPhone and iPod - and like it. There are a lot of things I don't like with Apple products, but ease of use wins, even over a stubborn SOB like myself. Since Microsoft has stopped developing my favorite software I've stopped supporting them.My current PC is a flight sim computer only. Unless there is an FS11 it will be my last since I'm now heavily invested in Apple products and Apple compatible software. The current state of the FSX community and addon market might be dandy, but where is this hobby going in the future? I'm still relatively young and want to be having this hobby for the next ten or twenty years as well. The ever present constant in this hobby has been Microsoft's FS. Now it is gone, and there are no userfriendly alternatives in development. And since I seem to be one of the few worrying about this there is little incentive for innovation. I think you've hit on the hub of the issue. People were looking to the future hoping for the next generation flight sim. Unfortunately that hasn't happened and the overriding feeling is probably one of disappointment more than anything else. Link to post Share on other sites
