E767 Japans AWACS

Recommended Posts

First flown in 1994 the Boeing E767 is based on the B767-200 airframe and uses modified equipment from the E3D Sentry, Due to its size the mission stations are all in the forward cabin and the rear contains the crew rest and sleeping areas plus galley and toilets. the weight of the radome balancing the aircraft. Numerous mission sensors and aerials are fitted to the aircraft the most obvious being the two HF radio aerials on the wingtips. Like most of these type of aircraft , the true mission capabilities are highly classified. Japan is the only user of the type and has 4 in service.
