I am thinking about replacing one of my monitors, which are about 2 years old for a more modern one.

I was wondering if i bought an active 3d monitor if I could use it in FSX and does it enhance the view/experience? Has anybody bought one yet?

The other idea is to buy an IPS monitor has anyone any experiences with these.

Or has anyone a recommendation as I currently run an LG flatron 23" and a samsung 226BW 22"

I must say I like the look of the series 9 samsung monitor but they are not cheap and get average reviews yet the viewsonic vx2336s gets rave reviews and only costs 135£ but isnt 3d.

Regarding IPS (In Plane Switching) displays, have been using a Panasonic IPS LCD LED backlit tv for 19-months - the viewing angle is exceptional, also its low-reflection property is very good - shine a superbright LED torch at a normal LCD and you will be dazzled, do the same with an IPS and the reflected light is bright but not dazzling, which helps the blacks to look blacker. Unfortunately the current fashion to use glossy protective glass or plastic covering sheets would mean shopping around to find a matt version.

If purchasing another display monitor, I would be seriously considering an IPS version.

Cheers,

Ray.

I do!

I have a BenQ 3D monitor. I don't use it in 3D mode, I brought it for the 120 Hz refresh rate. Contrary to popular belief, 120 Hz is usefull. Most will tell you they are smoother in regard to mouse movement around the desktop. Everything just seems smoother.

It's not an IPS, so viewing angles are as you would expect, but I love it, great monitor.
