This delightful aircraft is the Clutton FRED (Flying Runabout Experimental Design). It was designed by Eric Clutton in 1957 and first flew in 1963. The first aircraft was powered by a Triumph Motorcycle engine but later aircraft use VW 1800cc Car engines, However since then a variety of engines have been fitted to these aircraft. They are designed to be Home built and the folding wings enable them to be towed behind a car. Hundreds have been built across the world and Eric Clutton himself still flies his original aircraft. Handling is gentle and top speed is around 100kts, cruising speed around 75kts. She is a lovely aircraft to fly and great for pottering around on sightseeing trips. This is a freeware model readily availiable.

There are many other variations on the design listed on the Fred website but all follow this general configuration.
