dodgy-alan 1,587
Vickers Wellesley Mk1, No 14 Squadron, East Africa 1941. These aircraft were the prime bombers in the East African campaign against the Italians in 1940-41. For some time in the campaign the yellow outer rings and white rings were removed from the roundals and the green loose painted a sandy colour but this was just for one campaign and the aircraft were returned to their previous colours after this action. This model is in 1/72 scale and is one of the old Matchbox produced models. this one dates back to 1986 and is now very rare. I've given this old lady a battle weary look with stained fabric and scuffed paint. Hope you like the result. Thanks for viewing, comments and criticisms welcome.
allardjd 1,853
That's a heck of a wing. They certainly can't say it doesn't have any visible means of support. Nice one... John
Quickmarch 488
Beautiful model. What are the pods, Alan? Drop tanks or bomb bays?
hurricanemk1c 195
They are bomb bays March. A very unusual aircraft - well built Alan!
