Why the media shouldn't report aviation incidents

Recommended Posts

This guy (author of said article) should work for the AAIB:

I'll just let any budding pilot/aviation ethusiasts find some (very) basic flaws in the report. This report was first pointed out to me by the wingmen over on the FLYER forum.

This is why what I call "instant journalism" should be banned. I love the conclusion also:

"Mr Carr didn't want to comment further on the incident until a thorough investigation had been completed. "

Maybe the author needs to take a hint!

Journalists are just thick idiots for the most part. I remember when a certain female presenter (Anna Ford) left the TV-AM station under a cloud after it folded, Journos staked out her flat in Brentford , West London and later reported that "Rather than talk to Journalists , "She had roared off in an expensive Italian Sports car!"  Come the lunchtime TV news and se was quite clearly seen waving from a rather battered Citroen GS saloon that she pulled away very slowly in to avoid running over the journalists standing in front of her!

Hardly a Ferrari is it! (though they were good cars in their day!)
