for those that dont know about such things, the original language of the south of France was occitan when the english king sat at poitiers and the english ruled over 2/3 rds of france. this language gave rise to Catalan  and a few other minor languagaes. Occitan is spoken to this day and is becoming more important again, it is a lovely sounding language and I am studying it. Eleanor of Aquitaine used to speak occitan with her ladies in waiting when she didnt want the her husband the king of england to know what they were talking about, remember back then the language in the english court was french!! anyway I digress

 

there is a very good producer of free airports and scenery called occitania they cover all the airports and intersting things from the spanish border northwards to the isle of oleron and a line eastwards that takes in limoges dropping down to montpeiler (all the occitan region)

 

if you put this .kmz below into google earth it will show you all the things they have done,, it is really ideal for those that like it low and slow it also lays on top of france vfr scenery very well.

Hi,

This sounded interesting so I've decided to check it out.  I discovered that the top 2 files must be downloaded from the page displayed by the provided link; not just the update.  I don't speak French so after downloading the "New" file I copied the readme to a new Word document and saved it as a ".htm" file.  I opened the file with Chrome which automatically translated the file to English.  I haven't installed it yet but noticed the install files are ".exe"s.  I intend to translate the original readme similarly before installing.

hi jim thats correct download version 8 and 8.1 update and the exe them , there is nothing to worry about it being an exe file these guys are the largest producer of free stuff for fsx in France , in fact they are much bigger than most groups that produce free software for fsx anywhere.
