hifly 925
Very nice Michael, great scenery and Elgar's 'Nimrod' always hits the spot.
ddavid 149
Brilliant, Michael. The photo tiles must have been made in 2010 or later - very up to date. You flew by our farm at 50 sec (druidston) and towards the end of the video. By the way, the flight dynamics of your auto-gyro leaves something to be desired! The main rotor, which auto-rotates during flight and only stops rotating when the auto-gyro is stationary. Detail, I know, but probably saved a few skins! Cheers - Dai. IZ0JUB 162
Hi all, Well thank you so much for the kind comments. Yes Dai I agree with you 100% when I switched the engine off just a few feet above ground level the auto gyro stops dead in my model and not sure how to undo that problem? Glad you saw your farm and the tiles are this year so its very much up to date. Thanks again. Kindest Regards, Michael.
ddavid 149
Michael, clearly, the model includes a link between the propeller animation and that of the main rotor - this shouldn't be so. Whilst the propeller animation is correctly linked to engine speed, the main rotor rotation animation should be linked to airspeed, so that the main rotor continues to (auto-)rotate after the engine stops. I'll try to dig out an old auto-gyro model I made using this linkage and make a video to show you. But don't hold your breath - it'll be well hidden and take me some time to find! Oh, and keep at the scenery building and videos, please! Cheers - Dai.
