mutley 4,498
This may already be well known but I found a cool overlay to use with Google Earth. This collection of SuperOverlays contains all of the Aeronautical Sectional and Terminal Area Charts for the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. These are based on high resolution digital versions of these maps produced by the National Aeronautical Charting Office. The maps in this collection are not current and must not be used for real-world navigation. They are for educational and simulation use only. I have just finished re-compiling these maps and they should now be the same quality as the original images. Also included are 3D Airspace Polygons created by Lloyd Bailey. Again, these are not current. Simply open the KML file linked below with Google Earth. Find the map you are interested in by checking the Index, then enable the map by clicking the box next to it under the Places menu in Google Earth Click here to download file size only 260k. choose open with Google Earth  Here are examples taken from my PC. Note these have quite a high compression to keep the file size down, click on the thumbnail for full image. Notice the height of the 3d airspace over the KSC on the sectional map (middle map above) :dance2: It's a shame it is only available for the USA buy helps pass the time when you are grounded!
