Good medium sized hauler?

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Not trolled through the whole forum, but could someone recommend a good payware addon aircraft that falls into the medium category - I've just bought the Majestic Q400 without realising it doesn't work with AH - so something around that size and level of complexity would be ideal..

Don't want to get burnt again buying something that doesn't work!

Many Thanks

Graham

Lots of things available in that size range, but finding something as complex as the Dash would be a bit of a challenge. You might have a look at the PMDG line...I don't personally use any of them, but am betting they might be worth your while to look at.

This one looks like it might be about the same size range as the Dash-8:

(in fact, now that I am looking at it...I think that is going onto my wish list... :D )

I'm pretty impressed with aerosoft's model quality right now...eating up miles in their Hughes H1-A/B, and have put countless hours on their Twin Otter Extended, Beaver, PBY Catalina, and even a fun little ultralight  American Aerolites Falcon (none of those mentioned are in the PMDG range fyi...)

Another thought is Captan Sim's C-130. It can be a lot of handfulls to keep track of in terms of needles and dials, although in analog rather than Dash-8 MFD style complexity. It's a great Airhauler with huge cargo capacity and fairly short field capability with its thrust reversers... (Your AI's however won't be able to land in as short of fields as you can because it is classed as a Heavy...but w/e...just que up money for them...who cares where they fly..).

And for a simpler but fine flying bird in the size range but not nearly as complex...JF's Fokker F27 is a very nice Airhauler with good speed and cargo.

Cheers.

Coff.

Hmm, the JetStream does fit the bill quite nicely, but unfortunately they don't seem to do it for P3D V3.

Think I might end up looking at the PMDG 777.  Lot of money, but does the job.  I assume that works in AH!?

Does anyone know of a good P3D V3 compatible BAe 146?  That'd do the job too...

Yes, looked at both of those hifly.  Neither one seems to be P3D V3 compatible.  Think I'll go for the PMDG 737 as that seems to work with both V3 and AH.

Thanks for the suggestions..
