Been having problems

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Sorry I have been away for a while but it all started about a month ago when my computer would not respond to my keyboard so I thought my new computer is coming soon I will wait till then and get a new set. Well I got the new set up and attached everything to my new computer and booted up for the first time then my power went off in the whole house. When I got the power back on and tried to reboot the OS was corupt so I had to reinstall every thing. I now get freezing in Vista and have to reboot every time this seems to be a common effect with Vista for a number of people and Microsoft were no help at all. Well I have not had a freeze up for 2 days now and if all goes well I will get back to flying this weekend.

Why bother replying then Kieran? :dance2:

Ken,

I had serious freezing issues when I first switched to Vista on my rather ancient machine a few months back. The best things I can advise you to do are turn off Windows Aero (instructions here) and if possible buy some more RAM - there is some going really cheap at the moment! I got an extra 2GB and it helped the problem somewhat but I'd say turning off Aero is the most important thing to do.
