MartinW 0
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7651327.stm Fancy siting at your computer and racing a real stunt plane??? Two stunt planes have raced a computer-generated aircraft in the skies above Spain. The pilots and a gamer reacted to images of obstacles to fly through. Their real and supposed locations were beamed to one another as part of a video game. The event was the first trial of ground-breaking technology in preparation for an event being named the Sky Challenge. Developed by a New Zealand company, it is intended to lead to televised online gaming competitions with hundreds of people racing virtual planes against real aircraft. ddavid 149
I can see a military application here, but it's hardly likely to be a success at Air Shows - unless, of course, like this year's RIAT, it gets rained off..... :eyebrow: On the other hand, doesn't Combat Flight Sim have a multi-player function? Who's up for a virtual Dog-Fight? :mrhappy: Thanks for the HU UM! Cheers - Dai.
