dodgy-alan 1,587
What got me were the silly sods all standing around watching! That thing could have exploded at any minute! Then they'd all be suing American for not telling them their plane could explode! SEATAC 400
And did you see the video of people with their carry on bags? Amid a plane going up in flames? Passengers said the only shouting was people yelling at the passengers opening the overhead bins to get their bags. Morons! If I had a small bag on my lap I might take it but I ain't risking my life to get my roll-on bad out of the overhead. Quote from a passenger "There wasn't much yelling or screaming, he told reporters, except passengers who shouted at others who were trying to grab their bags from the overhead bins. Schiavone said about 30 seconds into the evacuation, smoke started to pour into the cabin. The difficulty in breathing was the scariest part, he said." dodgy-alan 1,587
That piece that landed on the UPS warehouse certainly travelled! Hope no-one was underneath the thing when it came through the roof! Must have been going like the clappers!
brett 2,314
Looks like the replacement cycle might need to be changed to 10,000 hours. Kudos to the crew for doing everything right, for the emergency crews and the NTSB for finding the cause in a timely manner. I'm glad everyone got off safely and no one died because of their carry-on slowdown.
