Beechcraft J35 c/n D-5580 was built in 1958 and was bought in 1962 by ex-luftwaffe general Adolf Galland, for his 50th birthday. Galland flew with D-EHEX, which he called "The fat one \ Der Dicke" until 1980. In 1981 it was sold to George D. Huss, the US ambassador to Bonn, who registered it as N222VH. It was damaged in a landing accident in Siegerland in 1986 and is currently in Thun, Switzerland, still undergoing repairs.
