Bloody Legalised Burglary!

Recommended Posts

Hi folks, due to an ongoing and very nasty dispute with myself and my ex-partner plus her associated mob in Yorkshire,  On Saturday Night just gone, I received an unexpected bang at the door at 7pm and a load of plods came in and removed computers, external Hard drives and mobiles from our property. It was totally unexpected and as such has left me without my flight sim and back ups, all my photos and my main access to the outside world! As it was I had enough in the bank to afford new equipment so we are slowly getting back on line. My wife has a new phone and I have a replacement computer, although from what my engineer told me, When/if I get my original back he will add the graphics card to the new machine to enable FS to work correctly.  My wife's new laptop will be arriving soon as will my new phone. In the meantime I'm just trying find all my bookmarks again, reset passwords and mourning the loss of thousands of precious photos. (some or of my Mum shortly before she passed away, Likewise my Dad as well ) and tons of documents! Some of them extremely private as they pertain to personal medical details etc, I've lost all my phone numbers including yours Joe.. .....Needless to say I am thoroughly and totally p**ed Off right now so if my posts are a bit erratic you'll know why.  Thanks for reading, Alan.

Oh Alan, what a nightmare.

Surely the police will see sense and realise that what was on your hard drives is extremely personal to you and get your gear back to you.

I hope it gets resolved soon for you.

Take care.

Brian

WOW !  What a nightmare. You should get your gear back at some point in time.  All be it many months ahead.  Also you can pretty much accept the fact that much of the Data will be lost or at best, corrupted.  I trust they issued a receipt for all physical items removed ?

Thanks Guys,  My Solicitor is pressuring them to at least get our phones back as we use thenm to not only top up our electricity Smart Meter, but also we do all of our banking online, without it we cannot pay bills, transfer funds, "live" basically. Due to lockdown, most of our shopping is done online as well.  I am on the vulnerable list due to numerous health issues so have been shielding since March.  Oh what fun!
