Not very well known, since it was located in Eastern Germany, but they are producing some excellent wines here now. The town in the 1st and 2nd shot is Freyburg, which is the heart of Europe's northernmost wine growing area. The vineyards are just to the W of Freyburg, and are located on a perfectly S-facing hill of Muschelkalk, so it has perfect exposure. If you're ever in the area, it's really beautiful, cheap, and the wine is excellent Link to post Share on other sites
