I apologise for the poor quality, but you can read the text better here:

On a completely unrelated note, about 5 weeks ago, Pam and I were out in the back yard, enjoying a cuppa, when a white plane went over. Because we farm next to the sea, we get a lot of GA over us, particularly from EGFE (Haverfordwest Intnl) - they love to follow the coast, see the sights, etc. Anyway, this white plane was quite low (typical British understatement, John!) - I'd say about 100' - and it made a bit of a row, so I went round to the front of the cottage to see where it was going. I saw the plane turning to come back over us, and watched transfixed as the pilot flew back towards me, just clearing the 11,000V electricity line in our adjacent field. When I say the plane missed the cables by 10', I am definitely not exagerating in fact, at first, I honestly thought the pilot was aiming to fly under them. As it went past, I tried to get the number, but all I could see was black letters on the white fusilage. Going back into the cottage, I 'phoned my mate at EGFE (he's an instructor) to see if he knew who was up - he wasn't available, so I left a brief message about the 'fly-past'.

A month later, I popped into the airfield's 'greasy spoon' (coffeee house, John) for a bacon sarnie (ask Joe), and who should I bump into, but my instructor buddy. I asked him about the white plane and he said that it probably wouldn't happen again, as the pilot had recently had a big scare and that it would calm him down a bit. No names - no pack drill, as my old dad used to say.

It's a funny old world, isn't it - what goes around, comes around......

Hope you liked the story - complete fiction, you understand, just like John's Cargo Epic, eh?

Cheers - Dai. :mrhappy:
