The mission was deemed a sucsess but at a high cost to soldiors. Many soldiors lie injured at the Hospital at the main British base Basra Airport. The Royal Air Force has been tasked with airlifting over 200 international soldiors from Basra to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus where they can recieve proper treatment. The flight we will be following will be on the RAF's trusted workhorse the C-130 Hercules. The flight will use callsign Homerun 54. It will maintaign radio silence untill untill out of Iraqi airspace. The approximate flight time will be 2.2 (2hrs 12mins.). Home Run 54 will depart at 05:00 (Local to avoid the danger of a daylight take off) Justflights/Captain Sims C-130 Hercules with REX. Thanks for veiwing, Ed Link to post Share on other sites

If I did decide to join the RAF I would want to fly those. The herc's have amazing handleing capeabilities. I love doing tactical takeoffs (as I did in the shots). Link to post Share on other sites

If they were doing a cargo/ paratrooper drop then yes. Although they would probably use the paratrooper doors on the left and right hand side of the aircraft. It can be opened during flight. Useually not duting but I wanted to catch the sunrise so opened the Cargo door. BTW : JF is up now! I know, finally :great: Link to post Share on other sites
