New review on Mutley's - Flight1 / RealAir Duke B60

Recommended Posts

Bravo! :thum:

Good review of a very good aircraft! I know it doesn't have every bell & whistle when it comes to 'extra' features (though you omitted to mention the oh-so-important folding table and armrests  ), but from a piloting perspective it's about as good as it gets. The backlit gauges that work in the daytime are a brilliant addition too.

I only miss the engine management that comes as a necessity with something like A2A's Stratocruiser (with Accu-sim), or the Aerosoft Catalina (on my wish-list). If it had that feature the Duke would be perfect! As it is, the CHT can go through the roof and nothing happens. Shame, as it would add that unique 'edge' and risk to flying that only comes with such realism.

I'd give it a 9/10

Thanks for the feedback guys,

Martyn, I agree, if it had something like the Accu-sim addon then engine management would be far more crucial, that is why I found it probably a little too easy to fly.

I thought the sound was brilliant, I forgot to mention about the pressurisation but you cant give it all away :thum:

Rob, I added the 2 videos really because sometimes it's really difficult to put into words some of the things you see and I wanted to add some life to the review

Did you try the click spots on the panel image to see the 3d view?

Cheers

Joe,

Very nice, well written and very well formatted review. I can't say I'm overwhelmed with the aircraft but your review was plenty fair to the developer.

If this trend of no 2D cockpits continues, I may have to bite the bullet for a TrackIR, but will have to wait and see on that.

Anyway, I enjoyed the review immensely.

John
